The cruisers were given bigger brakes, aggressive shifting points, and a higher idle. The police models had other options to suit high speed pursuit chases. They gave the vehicle rougher suspension to handle tight corners, rough terrain and whatever else it might encounter. It was comfortable for police officers to sit in for long shifts and it was built to be durable.įord had made some modifications to the car to give it better handling and overall performance than the civilian model of the Crown Vic. It had everything that a cop could ever need in the perfect police car. Ford introduced their new body style Crown Victoria. They also need a vehicle that is quick, comfortable, and most importantly, reliable. Police forces all around the country have always needed large sedan like vehicles to carry all of their equipment.
